Tim Stafford Surfboards

Mostly bonzer inspired creations, made in Cornwall. Designed, shaped, glassed, sanded, finned and finished by Tim Stafford.

I make boards that are easy to ride, that feel natural under foot. Most aren't conventional but they will help you reach that point where you stop thinking about what's under your feet and start to focus on where you want to go and how you want to get there. Why bonzers?

Always happy to chat about your needs and what would work for you but please initiate contact by email or Facebook... details on www.timstaffordsurfboards.com | Ride and glide.

WAY OUT!

Spring high Widemouth, yesterday. I paddled out on my own. Joined after a while by two others. Big long swoopy rights with some nice sections, AND the knee held up dutifully. So all looking good for the trip Smile… Pics taken when the tide had dropped a bit when i got out.

Isle of Wight Atlantic POD EVO5/6 bonzer for Nige

This Atlantic POD was designed specifically for Nige's home breaks around the Isle of Wight. A little less entry rocker, a little more foam through the tail for glide and a little more in the nose for easy wave entry. Vortex channels under front foot to keep it lively (for such a wide board) blending into bonzer concaves. EVO6 set up for the beachy days and then switch to the EVO5 for when the points and reefs start firing. Throw in a set of CRT rear side fins and it is an incredibly flexible board to take on the wide variety the Island has to offer.

Epoxy bonzers, weird fish, and

Fresh epoxy bonzers coming soon... eps core, oak parabolic rails with a wood veneer deck and epoxy bottom  6'8 Cleanline (up in the rack in khaki with the taped rails), 2nd from top. Spoke to Mark at Glass Tiger today and rails are on so should be coming back for my bits next week.

Weird fish also on the move... eps epoxy flotation module in powder blue (on the stand) which will attach to the alaia inspired eps/epoxy/oak parabolics bonzer bottomed base... (on the bottom rack in khaki)...

Big thanks to Jason who has had to work in some pretty new ways to deliver what i wanted on these, including glassing and trimming the rails seperately to provide a really sharp join for the parabolics... i like to make Mark's life easy when i can!

Sprat FOR SALE

5’8 x 19 7/8 x 2 5/8” VORTEX bonzer bottomed Sprat is up for sale. Loving this board… it really is amazing (to me) that i can ride it, it being so short and me so heavy (13 1/2 stone). It is fast and loose and I've tested it in well overhead surf which, even more amazingly, it loved and I loved how it surfed. I’m putting it up for sale due to the new Indo quiver so it will be a great board for anyone looking to move onto a shorter board to get a bit more radical. Can ride as a thruster or quad and will come with whichever set up you prefer. This design really changes how you think about what you can ride. So £175 will get this SPRAT. It has a pretty well depressed tail area but has stood up to my weight and has plenty of life left in it. Small ding on the rail and one on the bottom – all will be fixed for collection. Drop me a line if you fancy it.

More foam for Mentawais… Glass Tiger collaboration EVO5 bonzer

This board is going to get a bit trippy when you next see it…

Here we have the EPS core shaped last week… yesterday Jason glassed it in 6oz epoxy on the bottom with 4 oz cut rails all in a pastel olive green… and it looks amazing with its angular rails ready and waiting for next weeks 1.5mm wood deck and some 3/8” parabolic oak rails… then it comes back for a 4 oz clear epoxy deck and rail wrap before it gets its FCS bonzers in an EVO5 set-up. So it is half Glass Tiger half epoxy Cleanline for Indo… The shape has a little more rocker than i normally put in to fit the curvy faces we hope to be surfing, and to help control all that speed. Only reservation I have is i don’t want to get hit by those oak rails!
