Mid length Duos...

This mid-length design of mine, "The Veesyrider", seems to be pretty popular at the moment, and no surprise. The design doff it hat to Neil Purchase Jr.s Duos in the fin set up and the retro V-bottom boards of the transition era, but are distinctly new in the combination and the years of experience in understanding the finer combinations or rocker, bottom contours and rail shape.

They really do make surfing easy and fun.

They have way more speed than a single fin or thruster and have a wonderful simplicity that seems to help all skill levels  get more from their surfing. They catch waves like a long-board yet accelerate like a short-board and turn on a dime.

Foam Core Custom Skateboard

 Seren's '9' board, set up and ready to enthuse her boarding. This is a foam core with a Kevlar carbon deck and orange resin tint bottom. Concave nose and kicked rear. Rear trucks are set on the kick-tail for carving but can be moved forward for park riding. Set up with custom made cork gaskets and hard wedge riser on the rear. OJ III Hotjuice 60mm wheels and 5" Fracture low trucks. There is a nice progressive flex on this deck and it feels like it's going to carve beautifully.

 
Thanks to Air Culture in Bude for the last minute spacers and bolts to get this one ready for the big day. 
The artwork was a collab between me and Tracey and represents the last 12 months of her life... All the things that made that year special. 

She was pretty stoked and I hope it will always remind her of the happiest of times.

2 Fresh bonzers...

I recently completed 2 fresh bonzers for a great guy called John... John was no stranger to bonzers, already having 2 and wanted to take his surfing up a level and have something for local waves and surf trips.

We worked out the best options were a 6'2 ORCA asymmetrical bonzer and a 6'8 Cleanline travel bonzer 5. 

    

Really pleased with how both boards came out and he was stoked. Looking forward to hearing how he gets on in the near future. 

Like most of my builds, the process tends to be pretty involved (and at times challenging when talking about ability, waves he wants to ride) and by the end of it it always seems that we've made a new friend. I think that's one of the most rewarding things about custom board building, the relationship that develops between the rider, shaper and the end product.
